Founding Inspiration
For over a decade, I visited the temple regularly in Noida. One evening, while praying with my wife, I noticed a child approaching me. I inquired his name and, moved by his innocent warmth, took him to a nearby shop where we shared a meal and balloons. That simple act sparked a vision—to nurture his smile and create a better future for others. The very next week, I encountered more children at the temple, and I began providing additional treat meals and heartfelt conversations.
Despite the temple’s usual quiet, I found solace in its peace and a deep calling to help. My father always believed in expressing gratitude to God through acts of kindness. Inspired by his legacy, I have continued this work under the banner of SHUKRANA, where the number of smiling children has grown to over 50.
The SHUKRANA Journey
In those early days, my dedicated visits to the temple inspired many to join in and extend their own kindness. Colleagues, teammates, and local community members shared their gestures, motivated by the visible impact. Even when I had to be away from the city or the country, my trusted helpers ensured that treat meals reached the temple every Saturday, as the children eagerly awaited our visits.
By God’s grace, I was given the opportunity to sustain this mission. Today, SHUKRANA not only continues its regular visits but also offers a dedicated space for children to receive basic education and computer training. We have built new washrooms for girls and boys, overcoming previous challenges, and provide essential supplies, stationery, and meals. Additionally, we extend support for medical treatments and healthcare services to those who cannot afford them.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
